Our Organic Maitake Powder is a pale-brown coloured fine powder constituting of Maitake mushroom fruiting body, also known as Grifola Frondosa. The fruiting bodies of the mushrooms body can reach a width of up to 100cm are harvested, dried, granulated and then ground into a fine powder. Commonly known in Japan as ‘The King of the Mushrooms’, it grows in large clusters near bases of trees and stumps in forests in Asia and has been used in Asian traditional medicine for thousands of years. Like many mushrooms, Maitake are rich in polysaccharides (our variety is 4%) and many other verified bioactive compounds that are likely responsible for a variety of health benefits including flavonoids, vitamins and minerals.
